75km Challenge Ride

The 75km course offers three exciting options for club and skilled recreational cyclists looking for a unique and professionally managed cycling experience.

Don't miss an opportunity to ride with Tour de France star and event ambassador Simon Gerrans!

All three 75km events, start in Ringwood and travel to Frankston and back, including trips through the 1.6km tunnels, a traffic free experience on both carriageways and a fast and flat course. The course finishes with a descent and ascent through each of the two tunnels.

Entry numbers strictly limited

1. Gerro's Personal Challenge (untimed)

Gerro's Personal Challenge is an untimed 75km ride for serious cycling enthusiasts. The experience is a personal challenge, not a race so timing devices and priority starts will not apply.

  • An uninterrupted 75km cycle on one of the best road surfaces in Melbourne
  • A flat and fast course
  • A traffic free experience on both carriageways
  • A descent and ascent ride through each of the two 1.6km EastLink tunnels
  • The chance to ride with Gerro (2011 Tour de France star Simon Gerrans)

Gerro's Personal Challenge is only open to pre-registered participants – no entries are available on the day.

Entry Fee: $100 (GST inclusive)

2. Individual Challenge (timed)

The Individual Challenge is just you against the clock – completing the 75km in your best possible time.

As an Individual Challenge cyclist, you will enjoy:

  • An uninterrupted 75km challenge time trial on one of the best road surfaces in Melbourne
  • A flat and fast course
  • A professionally timed event
  • A traffic free experience on both carriageways
  • A ride through the two 1.6km EastLink tunnels

3. Team Challenge Time Trial

Ever wanted to experience a team time trial just like those on the World Tour? Then this is your chance! The Team Challenge offers your corporate, club or social team the unique opportunity to be a ‘professional cycling team' for a day.

Team Challenge participants will be the first off the start line, with only the open road ahead.

Teams of up to ten participants (minimum six members) will leave the start line at one minute intervals in a time trial style to complete the full 75km course from Ringwood to Frankston and back.

The team time will be based on the sixth team member to cross the finish line, so it's all about teamwork, working for each other and enjoying the open road.

As a Team Challenge cyclist, you will enjoy:

  • An uninterrupted 75km team time trial on one of the best road surfaces in Melbourne
  • A flat and fast course
  • A professionally timed event
  • A traffic free experience on both carriageways
  • A descent and ascent ride through each of the two 1.6km EastLink tunnels

Priority start times will be allocated to the top three fundraising teams. The team who fundraises the highest amount will be the first team to leave the start line – with nothing but 75km of open road ahead. A once in a lifetime opportunity!

Team Challenge entries are strictly limited, and are expected to sell out fast, so we advise you don't delay in registering.

Entry Fee: $1,500 (GST inclusive)

Start Time: 6:30am – 7:00am

Event Distance: 75km (approx)

Suitability: Skilled riders experienced in team or bunch cycling, and able to maintain a minimum average speed of 27kph. Time cut off points on route apply.

All riders must be 16 years of age or older on the day of the event.
