A Safe Home is the Foundation for Life
I believe everyone on this wonderful planet is entitled to the basic essentials of a home, it is the foundation on which so many things in life stem from, our sense of belonging, pride, self respect and security. A safe family home sets the scene for how our youngsters view their life and what the future looks like. Despression, anxiety and hopelessness are just some of the effects of being homeless or living in temporary accommodation brings. Statistically, we spend more money on our pets, drinking, gambling and environmental sustainability than we do on providing a home for the less fortunate. Last year, 1 in every 100 Australians recieved support from specialist homeless services. Sadly however, everyday more than half of the people who request immediate accommodation are turned away including 2 out of every 3 children.
Please give generously for this very worthy cause!
Every given night there are approximately 105,000 people across Australia who are without a place to call home. This event is your unique opportunity to support Melbourne’s homeless community by fundraising for Hanover. When you register we will provide you with the information you need to fundraise.
