Start and finish area (including assembly details)

The start/finish area for all rides is located on the Ringwood Bypass (Melway ref 49 G7), with main entry from Ringwood Street. Riders can only access the course from this location – all other access to the EastLink motorway will be closed.

At the start/finish area you will find:

  • Toilets
  • Food and beverage outlets
  • Cloakroom facilities
  • First-aid facilities
  • Water stations

In addition, Eastland Shopping Centre is located nearby and has a large array of food and beverage outlets.

Full access details to and from the event will be found in the event Rider Guide, which will be mailed to all entrants from Monday 24 September 2012.

Transport to the event and parking

Entrants are encouraged to ride or catch public transport to the event where possible (the closest railway station is Ringwood on the Belgrave/Lilydale line), or alternately park their car an appropriate distance from the event and ride to the start/finish site.

If taking public transport we strongly recommend that you check timetables in advance (e.g. at www.metrotrains.com.au), as Sunday trains don’t start early in the morning!

To find out about other public transport options, check out Public transport Victoria's website.

Further details regarding parking and access to the event start/finish site will be included in the event Rider Guide.

Spectators

Spectators are welcome at the start/finish site of the event near the Ringwood Bypass. In the interests of safety please note that only registered entrants in the event will be allowed access to the course itself. Spectators must also follow any directions given by event marshals or other officials.

Road Closures

The EastLink motorway between Springvale Road and the Frankston Freeway will be closed in both directions between 5am and 1pm for the event. Other road closures at interchange points will also be in place. Please visit RideForHome.com.au or EastLink.com.au closer to the event for further details. Details will also be forwarded to individual participants in their Rider Kits.

Prizes

Prizes will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters, in both the Team and Individual Challenge events. Fundraising prizes will also be awarded. Details will be available shortly.

Results

Full results will be available on this website immediately after the event.
