| A great event for an extremely worthy cause. Please help us to help Hanover reduce the incidence and causes of homelessness in our community. I have been involved personally with Hanover for 6 years years now and have seen the great work they do. Work done to alleviate issues of homelessness for people, many of them families with young children, finding themselves in such a situation often through unfortunate circumstances of injury, illness or other reasons beyond their control.... |

| I retired in late 2010 after 40+ years as a real estate agent at Melton and rather than sit around and get fat and lazy I decided to take up bike riding. In early 2011 I noticed the Eastlink bike ride to raise funds for Homeless people and in particular children. I entered, rode and finished the course comfortably after not having ridden a bike since my newspaper boy rounds days when aged 12-16 years (now 63 years young). I challenge all my friends, family, past business associates, email contacts etc to help me raise $5,000+ to help the Homeless. | This will be the third Ride for Home I and my family have participated in. Apart from the thrill of riding on EastLink, it's a great way to raise awareness and to help do something about homelessness in Victoria. My family is lucky to have a home each night (even if the kids do stay out a bit late sometimes). We think it would be great if all families had the same good fortune. But it's a sad fact that over 100,000 Australians are homeless every night. We're delighted that the money raised from the Ride for Home will be used by Hanover Welfare Services to provide accommodation, food, clothing, and other basic needs to help other families through difficult times. Let's get together to break the cycle of homelessness.... |

| last year I was fortunate enough to be invited to meet one couple & their daughter who were helped by Hanover.The story was touching, gratifying & sad all at the same time.A skilled fitter & turner his wife & daughter with a normal home life one moment, found themselves homeless & living in a car the next.The loss of employment is something most people have little control over & when it happens the consequences can be severe & sometimes tragic.It shouldn't be possible in a country like Australia but it's becoming all too common.The ride helps publicise the problem whilst helping with the solution, please help if you can.... |

| Thank you so much if you sponsored us last year. My whole family are riding this year. Laura, Zoe and I are doing the 35k and Christina and Kel are doing the 15k. None of us have been on a bike since the last ride or before but the Ride is in aid of an excellent cause and we feel well worth the effort. As many of you know I am a Director at Hanover and have been a keen supporter of the Ride for Home event.
