Hanover ConnectEast Ride for Home – Ridewiser Training Program
Dual Olympic cycling medalist Rob Crowe has developed two comprehensive training programs to assist riders in preparing for the Hanover ConnectEast Ride for Home.
These 12 week training programs, for both the 75km and 35km rides, provide an ideal preparation for a one-day cycling event with a combination of endurance and strength training, plus conditioning speed workouts.
These specially designed programs are broken down into individual days and guide you through each step of your preparation. They include advice on duration and intensity, what training rides to do when, and how hard to go.
Be sure to check out our pages on nutrition and rider etiquette!

Fellow cyclists,
I'm thrilled to be involved in the Hanover ConnectEast Ride for Home, not only because it is going to be an exceptional cycling event, but particularly because it supports such a worthy cause.
I hope that you find the training programs I have prepared valuable. Make sure you check out the information on nutrition and rider etiquette too.
In my program I recommend that you check out the EastLink Trail. This is an ideal route to use for conditioning rides or as maintenance training, which is of course very important for recovery and general health while engaged in a training program.
You'll see that the EastLink Trail is recommended on days of easier or unstructured rides. This is a great general ride as it boasts a:
- safe riding environment off the roads
- generally quiet and spacious atmosphere
- long range riding opportunity & predictable track design
Have a top time exploring Melbourne’s newest and most scenic trail.
Most of all, have a safe and fun journey preparing for November 13th!
